It's very difficult for me to snap photos on week days. The fact is, I'm usually in such a rush to get to work in the morning, that any am photography will have to take place between my kitchen and the train station. I am a creature of habit who takes nearly the same route each day, so I am not offered a variety of brilliant photographic moments.
Then I labor indoors at work all day. When I emerge, it is dark! I am again confined to photographing things at the gym, the supermarket or on my dark commute. Also a bit limited.
So this leaves me with photographs like this one, where I just demonstrate on how tedious all this snow is getting to be with a general, poorly lit image of the freshly cleared sidewalk. This will not be the last, I'm sure.

It's blood orange season. There is little more for me to say besides "I'm obsessed with blood oranges." It happens every year. There is no citrus fruit more magical than the sweet blood orange.

I purchased and ate my very first kumquats today! Luckily the box had instructions on how to eat them, or else I would have been pretty confused.
"Eat everything, except the seeds."
That's my kind of fruit. Heck, I'd even eat the seeds just so I didn't have to dig them out halfway through, and just munch on it in one go. The peel is sweet and the inside is tart. It's a fun, delicious combination.

Yet another storm. Three in a week's time. No one had shoveled their sidewalks when I left the house at 8am, so I had to match down the middle of the street into oncoming traffic. I made it two blocks before the bus rolled up out of no where like a knight in shining armor (or salt-crusted advertisements). It escorted me to quickly to the nearest train station, where I snapped this photo on my way in.

I made banana cream pie for the Pie Party at work. It was amazingly delicious in my opinion. Light and mild. Made from Dorie Greenspan's recipe - with her sweet tart dough crust and freshly whipped cream.

I sewed some stuff today. As a result of the washing machine in my basement literally shredding the back of my shirt/sweater thing. Because that's just the next step on a long list of ways my landlord extorts money from me with the promise of cleaning clothing and then in return for destroys my wardrobe one piece at a time.
